Cool plug in...but docs are too old.Help!

This looks like a great plugin, but I can't get it to work at all. Looking at the documentation isn't helping: it's for joomla 1.5 and not 3. Either there are big differences or something isn't installing properly. I don't see anywhere to use an api key, and when I tried to use the module I got this:

I'd really like for this plug in to work. What am I missing?

I uninstalled the component plug in but am still getting the error code.
The module is causing the error. If I turn it off it goes away.
But how do I specify the location on the map?
