Prevention of duplicate filenames for pictures

Hi,

Our site will depend fully on front-end submission of locations & pictures thereof. This induces the risk of duplicate file names of picture files. I did some testing and I had these results:
  • When I upload a picture, GMapFP gives the filename this prefix: '681__'
  • When I upload the second picture with exactly the same filename, it gets this prefix: '0__' so the first picture is not overwritten.
  • Each following picture with the same filename gets the same prefix '0__', thus overwriting the second picture.

Would it be possible to either extend the range of prefixes or to force the user to change the filename manually when a duplicate name is detected?

Kind regards,
Frits

Hi,

When the Pro version uploads a picture, GMapFP adds the id of the user before.

By cons, it isn't right that it overwrites an old picture.
I will make the update.

For a quick response on all the questions of the Pro version, you can send me directly a email.

The point is that uploads will almost entirely be made by non-registered users. So we have no user id.

I do not understand what you mean by this.

Kind regards, Frits

ps. I've just submitted a review in the JED. A positive one, of course :)
