Can not filter by custom field

I have the Pro version 10.68 running on Joomla 2.5.8 that I bought 3 days ago. I replied to the email for support (I'm still within my 30 days) but have yet to receive a response, so I thought I would try here.

I setup a custom field as a filter on the main component page, but it doesn't filter anything. I click on the value in the drop down menu, but all the map pointers show up regardless of whether they're associated with the filter value. When I type the value into the search filter it works as expected, but I really need it to work on the drop-down menu as well. Am I missing something here?
